the 15th Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa (AASA) Conference will take place from September 9 to 13, 2024, at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. This event is co-hosted by the EU Horizon 2020 ASTRAL project, which focuses on sustainable and resilient aquaculture.
Join us at the Aquaponics Training Workshop as part of the 15th Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa (AASA) Conference on Friday, 13 September 2024, in Stellenbosch. This is a unique platform where aquaponic producers, researchers, educators, government officials, and technology suppliers come together to share knowledge, tackle challenges, and shape the future of aquaponics in Southern Africa.
I am deeply honored and excited to have Eduponics recognised as a valued contributor to the aquaculture and aquaponics sector, especially in the context of education.
Eduponics is an innovative youth led social enterprise that uses aquaponic farming to address a multitude of challenges within South Africa and promotes environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship development and relevant, inclusive education curriculum through its school-based programs
Vision: To create a world where all students have equal access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of their socio-economic background.
Mission: To transform education in underserved communities by providing students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and promote problem-solving skills through the use of sustainable and innovative technologies.
We believe that working collaboratively with stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and community members, is essential to achieving our mission.
Eduponics incorporates aquaponic farming into the CAPS educational curriculum, allowing students to experience education in a fun, engaging and interactive manner while, developing a range of skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.
The aquaponics systems used in the Eduponics Go Green project are designed with sustainability, practicality, and educational value in mind.
Each system is built using repurposed water containers and other recycled materials, making them not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective.
Join our growing community of stakeholders across South Africa's school and help build awareness, resiliency and adaptation to climate change.
